I'm setting up my man cave and trying to piece together an ES system. I already have a CDP-C85ES that I bought new years ago from RogerSound Labs. I recently bought a NOS (new old stock) TA-E1000ESD preamp that is NIB. My Speakers are SS-TL5's and I also have a STR-DE1075 which will hopefully be replaced by this "real" amp. I also had a couple ES-ish cool looking Sony HiFi VCR's that I have since tossed..an SLV-70hf and an SLV-R5UC. I do however still have both of the remotes for those and those are in great shape if anyone's interested: RMT-256 & RMT-V5A

Wow, where did you find a NOS 1000ESD? Welcome to AQ by the way!

Hard to say of it was NOS, but it looks new and that is a good price IMO. Most of these pre's on eBay are in bad shape, so I would pay more to get one that is in mint shape and had minimal use, with the remote and box.

I will take posession of it later this week so I will let you know. I'm still not having any luck looking for the killer deal on a TA-N77ES but I did locate a TA-N80ES...but I have my heart set on those oh so cool meters!

Yeah those TA-N77ES are rare. I had a pair of them at one time, they were mint and sounded great! But, the N80ES is the same amp and sounds the same, so if you can get by those meters, you can save some cash.

Wow that picture doesn't strengthen the case for the 80 at all...LOL. Those are gorgeous and belong in the ES hall of fame! Just curious how much did you let them go for if you don't mind me asking?

Another question I have...I've read there is a "multi" version of the 77 amp and it's the desireable one to own. How does a novice distinguish between the two?  Thanks!

I received the TA-E1000ESD and it was just as mint as described, and it seems to work perfect as far as I can tell. Remote looked brand new too.

Cool! Gad it worked out.

I sold the amps for $1400 for the pair. Maybe I should have kept one. I'm still looking for a Mint TA-N80ES though.
