fanboyz,

There are a couple of Sony laserdisc players for sale on ebaY, including a commercial unit. You might want to check them out.

RF demodulators are needed on Laserdisc players that have an AC-3 output to convert the signal to Dolby Digital.

Most current receivers do not have these built into them so a RF demodulator is required.

Sony didn't make very many models that have an AC-3 RF output.

And the models they made that did have it (such as the MDP-V1, MDP-V7, and the MDP-V-10) many, if not all of them, weren't available in North America.

But, some of these players, particularly the MDP-V10, are multi-standard (PAL and NTSC).

But, like any other player equipped with an AC-3 RF output, an AC-3 RF demodulator is required to make the RF signal into a useable bitstream, such as the Sony MOD-RF1 or the Yamaha APD-1.

However, and as much as I like Sony, if you're hunting for a LaserDisc player, you are going to have better performance and better reliability from a Pioneer player.

I have a Laser Disc System, Auto Reverse/Tri digital LD Model MDP-750 in perfect condition with book and original box. It works and looks brand new. I woulkd be interested in selling it but I have over 800 titles LD movie collection. Unfortunately I don't know if a AC-3 RF output is available, but I will be willing to find out if you have interest in buying the whole thing.
Thank you for your attention.

Your player does not have the AC-3 RF output; it will have to be modified to add that functionality.
