Hi all,
I am new here, and registered this morning because I cannot find any information on the internet, this forum, or AVS forum on the following....
I have a 34XBR910, and I also just got an XBOX. I have it hooked up to input 6 on the 910 with the Monster brand XBOX-specific component cable, and set the XBOX configuration up to allow 480p, 720p, and 1080i.
Now, as I go through different games that show support for different resolutions, I want to somehow confirm what the 910's resolution is at. So, do I have to go into the service menu to see what resolution I am at? I just want to make sure I am getting what I paid all this money for!!!!
I did just find instructions on how to enter the service menu, but where do I go from there?

Brian,
I also have the KV-34XBR910 and have asked a similar question in another forum about entering the service menu. I was asking about calibration issues. The answers I received convinced me to stay away.
Apparently using the service menu can void the warranties. I don't know enough about this set to risk that. I would have to think that there is a place other than the service menu to verify your resolution. Hopefully, someone with more knowledge on that issue can direct you. I just wanted to issue the warning about the service menu.
Thanks much for the advice/warning. It is appreciated.
I would also think there would be a easier (official) way to let the consumer know what resolution they are in. It's hard to believe that Sony would not have this on the screen when you press the normal diplay that comes up in the corner in green.
I'm also not big on having to turn the TV off, enter the service mode, turn it back on, observe the resolution, shut it back off, and then on again to get back to normal. All that just to ensure it says "720p" for some of my Xbox games!!! But I am always wanting to make sure I have everything set up correctly and not missing out on getting the best picture possible.
Thanks again for your suggestion.
Brian
