Hi,
I also had this problem with my davs550. What you need to do is re-calibrate the laser. To do this you need to enter the service menu.
There is instructions within the downloads section of agoraquest on how to do this. Although from memory seem to remember I had to hold the buttons down on the player (rather than the remote) then turn the volume right (will check on this later). Once within the service menu you need a dual layer and single layer disc to calibrate against.
