Okay, the 16:9 mode on the 27FS100 seems to squash the picture. I have read that you have to set your DVD player to accept the setting and fix the squash. Can Playstation 2 (acting as a DVD player) set this mode? I haven't been able to figure out how to do this.

When the PS2 is playing the DVD, press stop. It will go to the menu with all the options. Choose the picture or display or video option. Set the display to 16x9 widemode. This will allow you to use the 16x9 enhanced mode on the TV correctly but keep in mind also that you need to be using an anamorphic or 16x9 enhanced DVD for this to work. An non enhanced (non-anamorphic DVD) will just be downconverted and you have to disable the 16x9 squeeze on your TV unless it does it automatically.
