what is the best setting to watch a dvd on my 755V? dynamic 1,2 cineima 1,2 or standard? i have a 40xbr800 and i use the vivid setting on it. thank you. the manual recommends one of the cineima settings for watching movies.

First, I would suggest you don't use "Vivid" on your TV. That setting has a ridiculously high contrast level, which may be necessary in a bright TV showroom, but not at most home. It tasks the powersupply of the unit, and may even cause pre-mature problem with the tube.
Second, the best thing to do is to get a test disc like AVIA or Sound & Vision Tuneup, and run it on the DVD player. Then adjust either the DVD or TV to the "correct" level.
In playing briefly with my 900V, I think the Dynamic 1 and 2 has raised contrast level (also known as white level); while the Cinema has reduced contrast, and a little raised brightness (black level). It really depends on the overall setting (of both DVD and TV), plus your viewing environment to determine which is best for you.
