Trying to decide which route to take... To stick with the Pioneer ELITE 59AVi sent to my Pioneer ELITE 55TXi via i.Link, or go with an Oppo BDP-83 and send its analog outs to my Sony V555ES.
Both receivers sound remarkably good, and I really don't prefer one over the other. I like having i.Link, but if the analog outs sound just as good then there would be no reason to keep the Pioneer's. This will be for my dedicated home theater room. Both receiver's decode similar formats and have similar features besides the Pioneer ELITE's i.Link capabilities.
What you guys think I should do? Ditch the Pioneer's and get a Oppo, or stick with the Pioneer's and ditch the Sony. I know we are at a Sony forum, but all other things being equal, what would you guys do? Thanks so much!

Scott_Have you had a chance to audition the Oppo in your system? IMO since it seems all you're concerned about is the best sound go with whichever sound the best._mykl

I love my BDP-83. Fast boot up, great upconversion, awesome 7.1 analog, etc. I could go on and on about it.
But it's your money and your decision.

In a simliar boat myself so I understand your dilema. I had pretty much the same idea as you've come up with AFA the setup chain. My dilema is the middle of the chain. The area I was looking to resolve in the first place. It's been my main concern since I got the DA9kES. What to do when it dies. Already have it worked out downstream from there and figured while I was at it I'd simplify and eliminate upstream and storage. Got a good handle on that area. But the middle has me stumped._mykl

If the silver, it would be pefect. I agree Oppos, to build a pricepoint, so there must be some sacrifices, LED Flashlights but they pricepoints to buy what they do they are awesome.
