    Hello:
I have a chance to buy a DVP-CX995V but the owner says the power on PB doesn't work.  He says pushing ANY button will turn on the unit.
Does anyone know if fixing the Power On PB is an easy repair?

    Thanks,
    Richard

For starters, you will need to do a fair amount of disassembly to even gain access to the front panel.  I wasn't able to find the on/off switch in the schematics.  I wouldn't attempt a repair without first obtaining a copy of the service manual, which you can order courtesy of Agoraquest.

    jehill:
    Thank you.
I have requested a copy of the service manual from Agoraquest.
I'll let you know how this turns out.
    regards,
    Richard

    jehill:
Disassembly of the front panel was straight forward.  Visual inspection showed me how it was put together so I could take it apart without difficulty.  However, how the Power On PB worked was confusing.
I needed to see the drawings in the Service Manual, but I had not as yet received the  manual from Agorquest.

Fortunately I was able to download the Manual from another source.
To my dismay the drawings did not show how the Power On PB was assembled.

Further inspection of the panel revealed the PB was hinged to the panel so I now understood how it was assembled.
I fixed the hinged and now all is running just fine.

    Thanks for your interest.

    Regards,
    Richard
