I have a KF60DX100 and finally replaced the lamp after 21,000 hours. However the new lamp has created another problem.
First the tv comes on for about 30 seconds then cycles off "no sound or light", the led light blinks 5 times. It does this cycle once or twice more then the TV works perfect for the rest of the day until it is turned off and the cycle returns.

I noticed that the lamp temp was only 36~38 and then turns off. It seems that when the lamp temp exceeds 43 it works without a hitch. Any ideals of the cause.

Thanks for the forum. Most helpful for maintaining my cherished Sony.

    T Wurster

I would replace the lamp driver.  If the lamp temperature is low, I suspect that would be directly related to the HV applied.  If the HV is low, that would indicate a problem with the lamp driver.  How do you mesure the temperature of the lamp?  What are the units?

The temp is is from the adjustment screen in Celsius. You are probably right about the lamp driver.
    Thanks for the info

I purchased a lamp driver and awaiting its arrival. Found new on EBAY for $99.00. Hopefully this will solve my power cycle problem. Be thankful you bought the extended warranty. I paid $5,700 in 2001 for the my TV no extended warranty. Optical block has yellow blotch but was out of warranty and my model was not included in the sony warranty extension program. So I have lived with the yellow blotch, replaced the lamp once and now the lamp driver. Not the best record for such an expensive piece of electronics!

Did you install a genuine Sony replacement lamp assembly?  By lamp assembly, I mean the lamp already mounted ready to be inserted into the TV.  We occasionally hear of members that went for the low cost option of removing and replacing the lamp in the lamp assembly and continued to have problems.  We only recommend installation of a genuine Sony replacement lamp assembly.

As it turns out I have the same problem. After installing a new board the cycle only happens when I first turn on the tv. Once it cycle two times sometime three it works fine until I turn off. I also used a cheaper aftermarket lamp. I think I am going to order a new one and see what happens.

I too have a KF-60DX100, but with a blinking problem.

My set will power on and then power off after 30 seconds. The LED standby light will flash 30 times and the cycle repeats itself. Same times, same intervals. I replaced the bulb in 2004 and double checked the lamp cover was secure.

I thought it might be the bulb again, but the fact my Lamp Indicator light is not blinking would lead me to believe it might be the lamp driver (so i've read)??

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
