I have a VAIO VGC-RC110G which is running the preinstalled Vaio Media Console.  This is a server which allows any PC on my network to watch movies, etc that I have recorded on this computer.  It works very well.

I am trying to configure my new 40" XBR6 TV - to see if I can view these videos as if it were a PC.  I have configured the TV so that it sees the server and lists it on the menu on the TV.

However, I cannot get it to access anything on the PC.

    Has anyone done this?

I am pretty sure that you need the BRAVIAź Internet Video Link Module to accomplish what is desired.  Check it out!

Yes, I am familiar with that device ... however, I am not accessing the internet.  The server running is on the VAIO that is connected directly through my network.  I am already connected to it.

The reason that I mentioned it, is that I suspect that it has a 1 Gbps Ethernet port compared to the 100 Mbps Ethernet port on your XBR6.  I have been led to believe that 100 Mbps isn't fast enough to support HD.  Regarding access to the internet, isn't your server accessed by connection to an IP address?  Granted, this would be an intranet, but so what?  I would consider your server as being on the "internet".
