I have a PCV-MXS20 VAIO which had a disk crash. I had all my data backed up multiple times, but the system restore is on a partition on the disk that died. Knowing those partition backups are not helpful for disk crashes, I bought the Restore CDs from the Sony Store when I got the machine
However, when I tried to use the restore CDs, after replacing the HDD, I discovered that the Giga Pocket software is NOT on the Restore CDs! I fought with Sony for weeks on the phone ... calling different people ... trying to just get an image backup of the system to be restored to the point of what I bought. They totally don't understand the concept of "restoring a system to the point when it was new".
Would anyone here have an image backup of this system? I bought this software twice (preloaded and then supposedly on the restore CDs). I have restored the system from the restore CDs, but the Giga-Pocket software (which controls all the A/V functions) is missing, so this is just another PC with no A/V capabilities.
It still runs well, but I would like it get the software I paid for twice but still don't have, and I need to be managing video with this machine. That was the reason I bought a VAIO.
Thank you.
