My sister-in-law gave me her old Sony PCV-RX650 desktop with all of the recovery CDs. It had a MBR virus, so I formatted the hard drive, started the recovery...which was fine until I got to the second CD - it is cracked! Of course I didn't notice this until I went to use them. I called Sony, they don't carry them anymore. I called Microsoft to see if they would at least give me a CD for WinXPHome to go with the key for the PC - No go (it was worth a free phone call!) I found the CD set at only one place, PC Recovery Shop, but they are $32 + 12.50 to ship! What a rip off. I checked many other websites and ebay with no luck. Does anyone have these or know where else I can get them? I really only need the second CD in the 3 disk recovery set. I think I can get all of the drivers etc. off Sony's website. Thanks in advance for any help.

There are sites where you can download them from. But I would be cautious since I'm not sure if they have virus on them.

You can copy the recovery disks to blank CD's just as you would copy any other CD. You would need to use a CD/DVD burning program like Nero. You can get a free trial version of Nero HERE. Joe

Hello there, rmazz, were you ever able to get a copy of that recovery cd set for the Sony pcv-rx650 desktop? If yes, I would greatly appreciate your help w/getting a copy. I am having the same problem you had fnding a recovery set! Allex, is it possible to get a copy of that set from you? Please let me know guyz and thank you for your time (that I would be more than glad to compensate you for, along w/all costs related to getting me a copy).

No, I never got the CD. I ended up buying a new copy of WinXP and loading it onto the PC, as well as all of the drivers that I could get from Sony. It worked, but I didn't avoid having to pay for a new operating system. Oh well.

Thx for the kind response rmazz. I'm staying hopeful that allex will get back to me and that it would be possible to grab a copy of his discs! Thanks again!
