This problem started last night, i have a Sony Kdf-55wf655 Wega Projection TV and i was watching TV last night and suddenly the tv shuts off then i see the power light and the green light blinks a bunch of times until the screen turns on again, and it stays on for like 10 seconds and it happens again and again and again...
could it be the lamp? whats going? I need help because Sony will charge me so much $$ that i really dont want to pay

    Help please!

It's an issue with the lamp. It needs to be replaced. There are other threads on this

How many hours have you used the TV? Normally I think those lamps go between 6,000 hours to 8,000 hours

If you live in the US, your most reliable source of parts is http://servicesales.sel.sony.com/ecom/accessories/web/productSearch.do.  Use the Model Number search to locate the Kdf-55wf655 accessories.  The lamp is listed for $199.99.  Lamp replacement instructions are found at the beginning of the Operating Instructions.

I am sure that you can get the lamp alone for less, but then you have to mount the lamp.  I would pay the piper and get the Sony genuine replacement.

so i was looking more into the model number and where i can find something for less and i found this website. http://www.projectorquest.com/product_info.php?products_id=1654&productid=1654&channelid=BIZRA

do you think i should go with thise one? or should i consider the one you gave me, im not sure which website is more trustworthy if you know what i mean. and should i get the extended warranty?
and that lamp gives me 6,000 hours of life, are there any others that can give me more so i save the trouble in the future?

thanks a lot for the help

I got the lamp, installed it and now i have my TV back, thank you guys so much! does anybody know how much people would have charged me if i wouldnt of done this myself?

Edit: so i was watching some tv after changing the lamp and i see a dramatic definition difference, so i am very pleased that my lamp broke lol

So after having the TV on for an hour or so (watching a baseball game), i notice that the tv has some little noticeable blinking, like its not bad but if u focus u can notice it, i turned it off and then turned it on and it went away. but after a little while it started again. does anybody know whats going on?
