Hello I just bought a Sony Bravia 40U2000 LCD. I was surprised to see that the image quality of my DVD movies is obviously lower than the one I saw in the shop. It’s not THAT bad, but still…. I wander if I should replace my old DVD Home Theatre set (DAV-S500 – S-video output) with a new one that offers a Component or HDMI output. Will the resolution of my DVD movies get better if I get this newer technology set? Also, as I saw that not all the home theatre systems available in my country have HDMI output, is it OK if I go for one with a Component output, or should I look for one with HDMI output? Sorry if the question is silly, I really want get the best out of the new TV.

You need to utilize the HDMI input(s) for the best quality video.
