Is ther any way to get my KDL-32S2030 to start on HDMI, instead of the inbuilt digital tuner, and is it possible to control a sound system from the tv using the red white()  output? thanks in advance

Welcome to Agoraquest!  As long as the set remains plugged in, the last input selected should be recalled when you turn the set on.  If the set is plugged into a switched outlet, effectively, the set is unplugged each time that it is turned off.  I am not sure what you mean by " is it possible to control a sound system from the tv using the red white()  output?".  Those jacks provide an audio output for whatever input is selected if SPEAKERS is set to OFF or a similar setting.
