Is there any way to set the Closed Capitioned so that it only comes on when the volume is muted?
I feel like a dolt asking this, because it seems like something I should be able to figure out. I've tried several different things, and I'm sure the solution (if possible) is something ridiculously simple. I was even able to configure my parents' TV's for this (non-Sonys) but can't do it for my own!
Anyway, TIA.

yngvai,
I have had Sony TVs for a long time, several different models (I have three presently), and don't recall being able to have the closed captioning feature engage only when the TV is muted. I believe with Sony TVs, the CC is either ON or OFF.

I was afraid of that, Toli. Not that it's a big deal or anything, but it's a feature I've seen on other brands, and Sonys are so good I thought they'd have it, too.
I appreciate your quick reply. Thanks again.

yngvai,
I don't recall seeing it referenced in any of the Sony TV manuals that I have read. I wish that Sony TVs had that feature, I think that it would come in handy.
Another feature that I wish that Sony TVs had was the ability to rename each input to your choosing, i.e. VIDEO 7 as (DIRECTV).
