Welcome to Agoraquest! Tell us more about the MFH750 speakers. Who is the manufacturer? Is that the complete model number? Can you provide a link to a site that provides complete information?

Tw202020,
Did you mean the SS-MSP1/SA-WMSP1 speaker package that came with the HTD-DW830, of which the STR-K502P is a part of?

I think he means the Sony SS MF750H Dual 8" 3-way Floorstanding 200 watt Speakers.

Thanks Maxx! If he is referring to the SSMF750H speakers, he shouldn't have a problem assuming that they are 8 ohm speakers. I see that edconline has them (discovered when googled the speakers). If he turns the volume up high enough, I suspect that he will hear audible distortion, a good indication that more power is required for added head room.

I would say he will definatily here some distrortion. My interm reciever is only rated @ 80 watts x 5. Does my SS-K90ED's no justice. One I push about half volume, I'm already getting audible distortion. This distortion I was not getting with my SS-MF650H speakers. I was able to push them signifigantly higher.

I've seen Receivers that were hooked up to scopes go into clipping at less than 1/2 volume because their volume controls were set up by the manufacturer to give the impression that they had more power than they actually did.
