This an original home audio system by Sony. It had a box with a subwoofer in it but I did not have room to bring that home.

There is the TA-E741 Receiver that uses RCA jacks for the speakers.

But after looking at it again it says AV Control AMplifier.

    It has OUTPUT:
Woofer FRONT L (1 white jack) Front R(1 red jack) and Rear(red jack) and Center(white jack)

I put it on ebay saying it was a receiver and that it uses RCA jacks for speakers. is there a way to connect speakers to this and have it be used as a receiver?? There was a big box that came with the system but didnt take it. the speakers really went to there and then the big box had RCA wires that went to the TA-E741.

Im asking this becahse I put it on ebay and dont want to sell something I didnt explain good.

The TA-E741 would be more correctly referred to as a 4.1 CH A/V Preamp, beause it dosen't contain amps.  Apparently, the amps are either in the subwoofer box that your didn't take or in each individual speaker.  The TA-E741 came with ST-JX741 Tuner in an STU-741 package.  You can't call the TA-E741 a receiver, beause a tuner isn't included.
