I need to find out if a Playstation 2 purchased in the U.S. can be used to play games bought in Colombia.  I was going to buy a Playstation 2 and send it to Colombia where they would buy the games which are supposed to be a lot less expensive.  However, someone told me that there is a difference and that it may be necessary to change the micro chip because the machine as it is made here will not read the games from Colombia.

Does anyone know if this correct?  I will appreciate any replies.
