Hello, I recently subscribed to Adelphia Cable (in Southern California) and the picture quality is average. I am using the latest Adelphia's Motorola HD DVR and the picture quality is not good on all non-HD broadcasts. The HD broadcasts are good but not as good as the picture from a DVD movie source. Is there a possible setup config that will improve the picture quality? Currently the Motorola HD DVR is connected directly to the KDF-60XBR950 using component (3 wires) cables of good quality. Assuming that the Motorola HD DVR is a DCT6412, go to p-9 of the User Guide for instructions on how to access your HD setttings. Your settings should be as illustrated on p-10. If they are, there are two ways that you may improve the non-HD video quality: 1) add an S-video cable from the box to an unused video input on your TV and 2) install a splitter ahead of the cable input to the box and add a branch to the CABLE input connector on your TV. The first method requires you to switch between video inputs. The second method requires you to switch between a video input and the tuner. Either way, its less convenient than using a single video input to the TV, but if you like the picture better you will have to live with the inconvenience.
