Hi, folks.
Today I purchased a KDF-50WE655 at Circuit City. The salesman said the SU-GW12 is the correct stand for that model, but Sony's website indicates that the SU-GW11 model is the correct one for that TV. Did the Circuit City salesman sell me the wrong stand, or will the SU-GW12 intergrate perfectly with the KDF-50WE655?
Thanks in advance for the info.

Welcome to Agoraquest! Optional Accessories are listed on p-129 of the KDF-50WE655 Operating Instructions. The stands listed for the KDF-50WE655 are the SU-GW1 and the SU-GW11. The stand listed for the KDF-55WE655/KDF-60WE655 is the SU-GW12. It will be a little wider than you need and slightly lower to accomodate the larger sets. The salesman was lying.

Thank you for the quick reply. Will my set even fit into the cutout on the SU-GW12? I don't mind if it's a little wider and slightly lower, but if my TV doesn't fit in the cutout, it's useless.

I suspect that it will fit, but I can't be sure.

It didn't. The cutout is too small for the TV's base.
You wouldn't believe the number of CC employees who said the base would work with the TV. They charge a $40 assembly fee for the base. Since I assembled it and am returning it to them fully assembly, I charged THEM $40, which they knocked off the price of the TV.

Mysterio,
Greetings and welcome. It's good to hear that at least they knocked off the 40 bucks for your labor. Which was only right considering they sold you the wrong stand.
Joe
