40xbr700 Vertical Centering??? |

Help!
Need to adjust the vertical position up a few lines...
I've got the service manual, and it indicates to set the vertical position, use the "VPOS" setting. However, there is no VPOS on the service DX1A menu.
I did find the vertical size, and that worked, but need to actually raise the entire pixture1/2 inch or so.
Can someone help me out here?

What about SCRL? At least on my XBR910, it is an mode-dependent offset for vertical position. VPOS would be the main offset, and SCRL used to fine tune various video modes (480i, 480p, wide, normal, etc..)

I find it odd there is no VPOS, as it's on even old and basic Sony's I've had. Are you certain you didn't skip over it by using the 2/5 keys to move from category to category instead of the 1/4 keys to move entry to entry? VPOS and SCRL should be in the same category. In HD-capable and other high-end models, they are typically under 2170D-1 (horizontal stuff is under 2170D-2). In older/lower-end models, both veritcal and horizontal are usually under DEF.
