The most specific information I've seen for the release of the Sony 2005 model Receivers is for this "summer".
As far as build quality goes, in order to make a pricepoint many times the manafacturer has to substitute plastic for aluminum and you will have to look to a more expensive current model or a previous model to get the build quality you want.

Sony is also getting good at simulating aluminum. I always thought that the top of my RM-AV3000 remote was aluminum. That is, up until the time that I dissasembled the remote and discovered that the top was plastic.

I've been holding onto my DB 930 for over 5 years because I know they won't make one like this again which benchtests at 93 wpc @ .013 % THD 20-20k hz and has a 1/8" thick black anodyzed aluminum faceplate.

It appears that Fixya.com is a beta page for very basic technical advice. YoYo1972's agenda is to direct traffic to this page. Harmless???? Instead of following YoYo's links, please rely assistance from Agoraquests' more technically astute members.

Steve,
Thanks for posting to this thread and clearing that up. I just read the last six threads below this and after reading Yoyo's, Maxx's and your continuious post, thought I was stuck in the Twilight Zone/Groundhog Day!
