First I love this forum and have learned a lot over the last two months.
I am the proud owner of a Grand Wega KF50WE620 and I was blown away by the picture the first time I saw the unit.
My question is what are the best settings for the audio/stereo for this TV when connected to a SA 8300 PVR? I know I should have home theatre, but I don't ...yet. My current setup is setting the 8300 for dolby digital, and the TV set to TruSurround.

Welcome to Agoraquest! I don't think that you can do any better than that until you get a surround sound system.
Sony A/V System: KDL-55XBR8, BDP-S550 and AVD-LA2500PKG, consisting of AVD-C70ES Super Audio CD/DVD Receiver, 4 SS-LA500ED surround speakers, 1 SS-LAC505ED center channel speaker and 1 SA-WD200 Active Subwoofer
In the mean time, the only change I made to the SA box was to set the "Audio Range" to Normal. This allowed the Sony to utilize the TruSurround features, and sounds about as good as it will get.
