Hello,
I am having problems with my Giga Pocket on my Sony Vaio PC model PCVRZ22G. I tried to open up the Giga Pocket so that I can tape something tonight and I got an error message reading:
"Another application is using hardware overlay. Please retry after closing another application using overlay function. When another application does not exist, windows high refresh rate settings may be inappropriate."
Please let me know what the problem is and how to correct it if you can. I have checked all of my application and apparently there is nothing running. So I don't have any idea what the problem is. I don't know how to check or change windows high refresh rate settings. I will be very appreciative of any help you can give me.

HELP_ME,
Greetings and welcome. If there is no other applications running that are conflicting with your Giga Pocket software it could be a problem with the High Refresh Rate settings. This setting refers to your monitor refresh rate. You don't mention what operating system you are using but this should apply to Win2K and WinXP:
- Right-click the desktop, click Properties, and then click Settings.
- Click Advanced, and then click Monitor.
- On the Refresh Frequency list, click the appropriate refresh rate, click Apply, and then click OK to test the new refresh rate.
- If the test screen is visible, click Yes on the Monitor Settings dialog box. If the test screen is not visible, contact your hardware manufacturer to inquire about the availability of a fix for this issue.
- Click OK, and then click OK to close Display Properties.
HERE is the Microsoft site that lists this solution along with other suggestions. I hope it helps you.
Joe

Thanks! A simple search of my error message showed me this page. I recently restored my system with my restore cd's and could not use my Giga-Pocket due to this error.
I changed my Refresh Frequency to 72Hertz from my setting of 75Hertz and my Giga-Pocket now works. Thanks!

Greetings and welcome!
You are welcome. Happy to hear that you were able to come to Agoraquest and find a solution. I hope that you come back here once in awhile and offer your input.
