I was wondering what your guys opinions are on using a thx dvd to configure a 27" wega. I'm not sure if everyone is familiar with these tests but they have geometry and color tests. Is this at all close to what you get with video essentials or avia? If not, which of the above do you recommend?

judge_dredd- The THX optimizers that come on some THX certified DVD work pretty well. But, IMO the others are a little more in depth. If you want a good optimizer disc for a great price, then take a look at the Sound & Visions Home Theater Tune-up. I bought mine at bestbuy.com for $15.86 including tax and free shipping. It has before each test, a tutorial to show you how to work each test. Pretty cool, especially for newbies.
