Hi, does anyone know where i can get a replacement remote control for my CDP-CX153. Its about 10 years old, its the 100CD changer that Sony first released. I've tried some websites but i can't seem to nail it down, any hope or leads would be appreciated.

Have you tried eBay? What is the model number of the original remote?
Also you don't have to have the exact same remote as the original...
Is there a selectable switch on the back of the main unit for CD1/2/3 selection? If there is then any Sony CD remote with the same selector would be appropriate--just look for the buttons on the remote to see if all the functions you need are there.
Or, if it has no selector, any Sony CD remote in selector postion "1" or those without the selector should work. As above, just make sure the features/functions you want are on the remote you're looking at.
A MegaChanger remote would probably be most useful as the functions would be similar on all of the MegaChanger models.
Alternatively any Sony receiver remote should be able to control it, though some advanced/less used functions may not be available...

Perhaps These guys could help you out. You still need a model number for the remote though. I checked both the European and North Amercian user manuals for the CDP-CX153 and unfortunately neither of them mention the model number of the remote. Sorry.
