I have a Sony 28FX60B/S TV. I brought it to Sony several times for repair (the tube). The last time I was there some technician showed me the service menu and how to enter it.
Now my problem: The Smart zoom function of the TV.
When I bought the TV the smart zoom function stretched the picture evenly (the subtitles had the same size throughout the screen).
Now The smart zoom pushes the center of the screen more together then the outside part of the screen (and the subtitles are now very compacted (together) in the center of the screen and wide towards the borders of the screen). This is VERY annoying when watching tv shows with subtitles here in Europe.
Can I get the smart zoom function to work the way it used to (stretching evenly) within the service menu? Or do I have to drag out the TV again to Sony to get this fixed? (Newer software in the TV now ?)
Another thing... Does anyone know a website that explains in detail the options in the service menu?
Thanx in advance for any info.

SMART mode is meant to stretch more at the edges - its to avoid fat face syndrome as most actors will be centre picture. It's WIDE mode that stretches evenly.
