Hi,
Does anyone (Aaron I'm looking at you) know whether a disc changer with groups (ie:cdp-m333es) can control a changer without groups (ie:cdp-cx455) and still take advantage of the group function on both. So basically i want know if i can assign cds in the non groupable changer to the group file of the groupable player. So for instance would i be able to play random songs from a group such as "rock" that includes cds in both changers?
Thanks for any help.
Kain

It should work. Group File is part of the custom file feature, and a 400 disc changer has a custom file memory for 800 discs. Note however that if you were to connect two 'group file' changers together, the group file settings on the slave are not inheritted by the master. To the master, the discs in the slave are just 400 new discs; you'll have to enter the disc-specific settings again (such as artist file and group file). The exception is the disc names, which can be transferred to the master from the slave.

Not only was that a great response it was the response i was hoping for! I saw in the manual that you could transfer disc name info, but no mention on the group file side. I was really hoping this was possible.
Thank you very much,
Kain
