Has anyone heard better sound from their Wega with the SRS turned on. When I turn it on on my KV32FV15 it makes everthing sound like it's coming from the right side of the television. I get the best sound using the SIMULATED setting.

MY 32" Wega sounds better with SRS on.
My 36" XBR does not sound as good as the 32" sound system, but still sounds better in SRS mode. If you have a cable box, make sure the audio is also setup correctly in the setup menu.

Why do you even use the internal speakers of either set? You may think the sound is better with either of these surround settings listen to some test signals and you will see how they distort the sound. One makes everything sound as if its being sent through 50 foot pipe and the other just makes stereo sounds 150% volume of mono which makes dialog harder to hear.
As far as the srs not functiong properly maybe the left rear speaker got disconnected? They have a small click connector inside.

With both the Wega and the XBR, the internal speakers are ok. But using a surrond sound system makes it ten times better. With the receiver you can dolby surrond or Digital 5.1 which is awesome. But that also depends on the channel. Anyway, I would say that one of those surrond systems at Best Buy (around $250 to $450) makes the viewing experience much better.

I tend to watch only movies with my HT system.
I could connect my TV to the audio, but since my wife watches TV often, I don't want her fiddling with the system so I left the TV audio alone.
I wonder how much better the 40xbr700 system is since it has a built in sub.

Yeah...I tried that too and she managed to muck it up. I made a step-by-step sheet with about 10 steps. Some people just don't have the knack for pushing buttons and following directions. Its amazing what is soooo simple to one can be sooooo difficult for others!

I totally agree. Because my girlfriend thinks the picture is perfect anyways. But she doesn't see why making the picture that much better is worth it. She sees perfection. I still see inperfections. I'll probably always see inperfection
