Ok, so I just found this site and joined up because my Sony KDSR60XBR1 tv is not turning on and the standby light is blinking 3 times pauses and repeates this over and over. I searched and searched and finally found what the blinking means. Diagnosis:+B overvoltage IC501 is faulty(G board) and/or IC5002 is faulty(G board) Does this mean that it is definitely a board problem? When I had the optical block replaced the tech had a problem with the lamp door switch, just wondering if that may have anything to do with this(probably not)? Any help of how to fix it or where to buy the parts or any advice would be greatly appreciated. Mike

Welcome to Agoraquest! For the KDSR60XBR1, 3 blinks, pause, 3 blinks, etc. means that the lamp door is open or that the switch that detects that it is closed is not acutated. Check the lamp door.

I am having the same problem with my KDSR60XBRI. It stopped working with a loud pop. Everyone said it was the bulb. There were only green flashes, non stop. I replaced the lamp, Then when I started the TV, I got the five flashing red lights. Everyone then said it was the ballast board #1468931613. I just finished replacing the board, I put everything back, started the TV and now I get seven or eight green flashes, a slight pause one red flash another short pause the I start getting the sets of three red flashes. Next I was told that it was the door not closing properly or the micro switch was faulty. I removed the micro switch board and tested the switch. It appears to function no/nc as I move the switch arm. I then replaced the micro switch board, put everything back. and I still get three flashes. Could it be the micro switch harness? Does anyone know where the micro switch harness goes to? Any ideas??Traced down the harness to a connector and checked the functioning of the micro switch. When the door is close, the micros witch closes as normal.

Just a shout out jehill, man you rock and thanks a bunch. The Lamp door answer was dead on. I had tried and tried with the new replacement lamp. And couldn't figure out as to why my KDF-42WE655 wouldn't come on. It would power on then off and the red light would blink three times. After about an hour of searching and looking at Sony not that helpful page. I found your answer to my problem. And I'll say it one last time Thank You!!!!!

Hello I'm a new memeber and have a KDS-R60 - I had the optical block replaced and the hdmi switch. Sony has always been a great product but this TV is a big problem and for 4k new other than the picture is a disapointment. Ok so I have replaced 2 bulbs and now just got a new one from direct merchant (good price) The red light keeps coming on intermintently 3x = so I open the hatch pull the bulb and blow it out with air and replace the buld and it works for a while longer. Here is my problem - even though I have a new bulb I still have to do this ...What could be the problem

Guys i'm having a similar problem but here's the thing. Standby light blinks green continuously until it just turns off. Fans are blowing I can hear it but no sound or picture on the screen. Looking into the back I don't see the lamp lighting up at all so I'm assuming its not the lamp. I've replaced the lamp and still same thing so now I probably have 2 good lamps. Could it just be the ballast? I read somewhere that it could be that since there's no power lighting up the lamp? Thanks guys for your help.

Welcome to Agoraquest! The ballast or lamp driver would be the logical next item to replace.

Guy I appreciate the help after reading all of what could be the issue, i spoke to me techincian he had helped me out. The lamp door has "2 " switches guys. That could be the case to your 3 blinks turning off an rreapting. I checked both wires of switches an there wires an then that had fixed my problem. Thanks HOPE THIS HELPS ALL OF U OTHERS . PEACE

I thought that the THREE Blinks---B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby
mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power
supply circuit, check T603 and R672.
I am having the same problem with my KDSR60XBR1 Sony TV. The system boots up and the screen comes on for 1 sec and then shuts down...flashing the 3 GREEN code.
