Television Configura...is this talking about the overscan parameters? The screen size 34".   Sony KD-34xs955.   Its Video 5 and I'm using component cables.   Currently using Avia's overscan disc with the TV on the "full" setting i have it set to 3% on each side.  [addsig]
Television Configura...is this talking about the overscan parameters? Is this what the overscan values should be when it says this in the service manual? or does this mean something completely else? NOTE : Make sure that the picture size is within specs. Vertical size is 11.8 ± 0.1 sq. and horizontal size is 15.8 ± 0.1 sq. [addsig]
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...speakers... spikes on carpetactually i have my speakers on carpet using the enclosed spikes that came with the PSB towers.. i was just curious what it might sound like if i changed to the rubber feet instead. [addsig]
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...speakers... spikes on carpetwhy do you put spikes on the feet of tower speakers on carpets and the rubber on the feet of tower speakers on hard wood floor?  (besides that the spikes would ruin the floor)[addsig]
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...str-db930 speaker question If i have the following setup configuration: Front speakers:    Large  (bass comes from fronts) Subwoofer:          Yes Center speakers:  Small   (bass comes from fronts) Rear speakers:     Small   (bass comes from subwoofer) Is this correct for the bass management on these settings?  Does the bass from the rear speakers go to the subwoofer instead of the Front Speakers just like the Center channel does? thanks for your help.[addsig]
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...Bi-Amp Sony STR-DB930? or any other sony receiverCan it be done?   My PSB speakers allow for Bi-Amping.   I never thought about trying with my STR-DB930 Reciever until now.  What if i ran the highs to the Channel A and the lows to Channel B on the reciever and switch the speaker selector to A + B?   Will that work?  Has anyone ever done this? [addsig]
Television Configura...HDMI Cable length Is there a maximum length (feet) on an HDMI to HDMI cable that should not be passed? [addsig]
Television Configura...Replacment Procedure??Where did you purchase the set from?  Was it directly purchased through sony or by an authorized dealer? (ie: best buy or circuit city) I had to go through a similar issue to have my KV-36HS500 replaced due to color blotches in the picture tube.   Since I bought it from Best buy and i had also purchased a service contract for it I had to go through best buy in order to hvae it replaced.  This was a nightmare.  not because best buy was being difficult, but because Best Buy has a protocol to follow and I had to deal with that.  Best Buy guarentees that if the ..

Television Configura...any idea?yea i looked at the VPIN setting as well as VCEN and when i used either one it worked on the middle of the lines more than the outter edges.  I know in 2170D-2, there is a setting of UCP and LCP which helped straighten the vertical tips but I couldnt find a setting like that for the horizontal ones.  Any other ideas? [addsig]
Television Configura...any idea?Any idea how to fix this issue?  Which service mode setting do i need to mess with? [addsig]
Television Configura...DVEJust got my Digital Video Essentials disc today and I just feel the need to talk about it and since i have no one to talk to about it i rather talk about it on this... (at least people will understand me here) Ive only used it once but i HATE HATE the way the dvd is setup (chapters and tracks)  it is so hard to navigate through the freakin menu.... I still dont know how I got to the video calibrations area!.... One thing I feel like is missing (or i just havent found yet) is the geometry screens...  Where is a crosshatch picture or circlehatch picture?  I had to use the o ..

Television Configura...service mode green text so when i got into my service mode on the TV, i have all this green text on the screen telling me all the things i want to know.. but there are sometimes that i wish i could hit a button and make it disapear in the service mode and then hit a button and let it re-appear.   Of course i know i could shut the tv off and turn it back on but i am looking to find out if there is a way to get rid of the text while in the service mode... follow me? [addsig]
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...How many folks are still happy with there STR-DB93Hey guys.. sorry for taking such a long time to post back. All my inputs are running digital.   The DVD player and XBoX are running optical and my cable box is running Digi Coaxil.  I've tried listening to different modes... Normal mode, AFD, cinema studio A,B and C and it seems that mode does not affect it.  But at the same time the problem doesnt always happen, it seems like the reciever decides when to make the noise and not the input coming into it becuase it happens whether I am watching cable, dvd or xbox.    any other ideas ..
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...Maxxwire tops 8Kabsolutely... congrats dude!  youve helped me out countless times!!!  thanks again! [addsig]
