I'm asking because I'm considering purchasing the XA5400, and I'd like to use the analog outs for stereo CDs and SACDs but HDMI for multichannel SACDs .. |
| MD/CD/SACD | Sony CD Changer - Power Toggle via Remote Control | Hello! I've just added a lovely Sony SCD-C2000ES SACD changer to my system. It's working beautifully, except for one thing: it doesn't appear to have a standby mode from which it can be turned on by remote control. (There is no "Power" button on the remote.) Is there any way for me to set it up so that I can turn it on or off via remote control (I use a Harmony One universal remote)? Thanks! | MD/CD/SACD | SCD-XA5400ES | Here's a random question. I used to have an old 5-disc Sony ES CDchanger from the late 80s. One of the things I liked about it was thatwhen I pressed the scan forward (fast forward) button, the player wouldzoom ahead at a fairly rapid clip. When I first paused the music andthen hit scan forward, it would go even faster (through a 10-minutetrack in less than 10 seconds). This made fast-forwarding to aparticular part of, say, the 35-minute first movement of Mahler's 3rdsymphony fairly painless. My current player--a Sony DVP-NS9100ES--takes forever and a day to fastforward, perhaps because it do .. |

I have much lower standards for video and home theater audio. The list of Sony devices being released this year includes what looks like a new SACD player, the SCD-XA5400ES. I wonder what features that will have. Perhaps I should wait for that. Matty |
