| Television Installat... | connecting a/v system xbr450 | I am trying to hookup my system with the best possible connections. I have: Sony XBR450 Yamaha HRT5280 receiver 2- dishnetwork boxes Replay TV Sansui VRDVD4005 dvd/vhs recorder I have two dish boxes in order to watch one program and record another. I want to record from VC2 to replay tv and then copy to dvd. Most of this is running through the Yamaha receiver. Can you make a diagram for me? I don't think that I am best utilizing the component cable connections. Thanks, .. |

| Television Troublesh... | XBR 450 BROKEN! | My 32xbr450 is 2 1/2 years old and it quit! The service tech has ordered a rebuilt D module and the repair is going to cost me $468........I am not happy about having to spend this much money so soon. I called Sony customer service and they were no help. The tech said every repair on this model has been the D module but of course Sony denie's there is a problem. Who can I complain to at Sony that may help me with this? Melanie |

Gull....all makes sense except when you asked why use audio outputs from tv at all....I am running audio out from the tv to the stereo....I have the sound on the tv turned off so all sound is coming thru the stereo which is wired for surround sound. Does this make sense? Sonyphile: I have a really good tuner and good cables connecting it to the tv...I have s video connected but not sure I need it as it's only for picture not sound...or did you mean s video to the replay tv...which I have also...the dvd is connected by component. | Television Troublesh... | COMPONENT VIDEO CONNECTIONS | I have just completed my a/v setup..it's like this. Replay TV in: s video to s video on dishnetwork receiver. r/l audio to Sat. receiver. Replay TV out: s video to Yamaha HRT 5280 stereo receiver. R/L audio out to Yamaha receiver. and IR blaster to dish front. TV: s video to monitor out on stereo. DVD: Apex 7701...s video to stereo receiver and optical cable to stereo. PROBLEM: I tried using the component video from TV to stereo and they don't work (only s video cable will work). Also tried component from DVD to stereo component and to TV component and it doesn't work e .. |
