Ciper I'm with you, a progressive signal will make a difference. I havd the DVP-550D, then I went with the Denon 2800 progressive scan player and I see a huge difference. Also, if you run Video Essentails you will find that your 560 does not display PLUGE singals well. PLUGE is "blacker-than-black", my DVP-550D did not display this signal. So if you have the money, get a progressive player. And progressive players only work on DTV's.
Few things, first I'm currently using component hookups from the cable box to vidio/audio inputs on tv. Do you mean composite? If you are referring to red/yellow/white connections, these are composite, not component. Component connections are inputs labled video5 and 6 on your set. If (thats a big if) your cable box supports component connections USE IT. This the best connection on your set. If not, use the yellow, red, white connections, lastly use coax. Marshawn
Go out and buy Video Essentails, it will help you set your picture to reference levels. Avia does the same, but I havent used Avia, I have Video Essentails, and with a little work, I now have a great picture.

I have the 36XBR400, In my opinon you should pickup copy of Video essentials, to help you configure the picture to reference settings. There is another DVD call Avia that does the same thing, but I have Video essentails so that is what I recommend.
I have the 36XBR400, I have the Denon 2800 progressive scan DVD player (nice piece). I am getting ready to purchase a HD Direct TV receiver, my question can both component connections support 480P/1080i? I know that a selling point of the new XBR450 is that is has two widebandwith component connections, does that mean my set only has one widebandwith component connection? If so, which one, video5 (since this is where my DVD player is currently connected). If so, I'll just connect my HD Direct TV receiver to my Onkyo 787, which can switch HD signal with little degradation. Thanks in advanc ..
