DVDTIVO recordingUnfortunately there is no way to have the DVD recorder stop automatically when your Tivo recording finishes.  That would be very nice, though.
Television Troublesh...If you've had to replace the D Board. . .What's your Sony TV model number?
Television Troublesh...KV-40XBR800 green tint, lower left Check out the information here
Television Troublesh...More 40XBR800 Color ProblemsPlease let us know what you officially hear!  Many of us plagued by this problem. Has anyone every tried removing the internal speakers to see if it solves this problem?
Television Troublesh...Wave on KV40XBR800 during HDTV viewing through DVICheck out the information and solutions here
Television Configura...36XBR800 Brightness HelpThe XBR TVs have a two year parts & labor in-home warranty.  You should have it serviced by Sony before attempting any tweaks in the service menus.
Television Configura...XBR800'sIt's there because it makes the picture look sharper -- something that's very noticable in side-by-side comparisons in the showroom.  And, of course, most people never touch those settings when their TV is delivered.
Television Misc and ...Any opinions on Voom?Lots of information, and issues, posted by early users in the AVS Forum here
Satellite Receiver/T...TIVOThere are rumors that Sony will introduce the 4000 this month, but nothing on their Web site yet. I think you'll be happier with a larger disk drive for more recording time. Of course, you could buy a Tivo with a smaller disk and upgrade it yourself. You might want to check out the Tivo Community Forum at for more information. I have a Sony SAT-T60 combo DirecTV receiver with Tivo connected to my Sony KV40XBR800 and I love it!
Television Troublesh...No audio... at allDid this TV ever produce sound? It's not clear from your post if the sound just went away, or if it never had any sound in the first place.
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...34XBR800 as center channel? This is typically not recommended, for exactly the reason you mention. The sound quality of your TV's speakers is likely very different from your other speakers, so the center channel will not blend well with them.
Television!!!!!!!!Before returning this set you should properly calibrate your video settings using a calibration DVD such as Avia or Video Essentials. That may go a long way towards helping you acheive the superb video quality you're seeking.
Television Misc and ...Direct View 40XBR800 Being Discontinued? $1899Where did you hear this set was discontinued? Posts at AVSForum suggest otherwise, and Sony has not announced a 40" replacement yet.
Television Configura...KV-32HS500 fine tuning.Your best bet is to purchase or rent a video calibration DVD such as Avia or Video Essentials and adjust your video settings -- especially brightness, contrast, sharpness and Sony's "Digital Reality Creation (DRC)" and "Velocity Edge Enhancement" settings. Digitally compressed video from DirecTV and Tivo are especially tricky to tweak.
Television Configura...What is the difference between Standard,Vivid, pro, somehunk: You might want to start a new thread for this topic.
Television Troublesh...Fine lines across the pictureHere's a good resource about the tension mask wires using in many flat panel display tubes. On my Sony KV-40XBR800 I have to get REAL close to the tube face to see them. They're never visible during normal viewing. The computer monitor I'm using right now has them, too. Again, barely visible without putting my face way too close.
Television Troublesh...Dreaded Pink Horizontal BarsIt would help to have a bit more information here ... * what's connected to your TV? Which connections/cables? * what's your programming source(s)? * has this problem always existed, or did it appear suddenly? * do the red bars move? * are the red bars visible with all program sources?
Television Troublesh...Fine lines across the pictureHow close to the TV do you need to get to see them? It still sounds like you're describing the tension wires inside the picture tube. Can you visit your dealer and take a look at one of their TVs to see if the problem is really unique to your TV or not?
Television Configura...What is the difference between Standard,Vivid, pro,They are simply presets with different contrast, brightness, DRC, SVM and other video settings. You can tweak any of the video settings for each of these modes to your preference. Pro is the closest to NTSC-standard color temperature with minimal video enhancements. That's the mode that most people use, and you can get optimal video settings using a calibration DVD such as Avia or Video Essentials. Cinemotion is something different. It's one of the scan line interpolation modes along with Interlaced and Progressive. Check out the detailed description of these modes at ..
Other (Tape, Short W...Turntables?Your best bet is to do a Google search on the models you're interested in. Sometimes, if your lucky, you can even score links to online manuals -- the best source for detailed information. Good luck.
