DVDDAV-S550 Component to SCART RGB?!when i tried couldn't get any picture at all.
DVDDAV-S550 Component to SCART RGB?!I've tried this sort of connection with the Sony DAVS550. Using a component to scart lead which costs around £20, and no it doesn't work. After numerous converstaions with Sony, is something to do with the conversions, the component sockets on the DAV series will only work with a component to component lead (for connection to those tv's that except them - mainly plasma). Your best bet is to use a S-video to scart lead, as these work very well.
DVDDav S888 Home Cinema SystemYou need to make sure that you are using the scart socket on the tv that allows S-video input. On mine (DX40) its AV2. Press the remote input selct button twice, once the dvd will be in black and white, 2nd time should be in glorious colour. Annoying that the DAV's work like this. Means can't use smartlink on tv to video as the scart socket is used. Nevermind.
DVDDAVS550 keeps freezingHi again, Just found it. Follow the instructions on the download. Except to enter the service menu you need to: HOLD STOP + DISPLAY + TURNING VOLUME KNOB TO THE RIGHT. From here you can follow the options to calibrate laser.
DVDDAVS550 keeps freezingHi, I also had this problem with my davs550. What you need to do is re-calibrate the laser. To do this you need to enter the service menu. There is instructions within the downloads section of agoraquest on how to do this. Although from memory seem to remember I had to hold the buttons down on the player (rather than the remote) then turn the volume right (will check on this later). Once within the service menu you need a dual layer and single layer disc to calibrate against. I've done this and now have no problems.
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...Component or S-Video?Right apparently this doesn't work on the DAV550. The sockets are only there for a component to component connection on a plasma (or such). Gues I'll have to stick with the s-video, only problem is that it uses the smartlink socket on the tv. Nevermind eh?
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...Component or S-Video?Says on the packet: Component Video 3x RCA to Scart Am off back to the sony shop later today to see what they say.
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...Component or S-Video?Bought a lead from the local Sony shop. However on trying it last night was unable to get a picture. Have tries the settings of output on both 'interlace' and 'selectable' with no joy. Anyone got any ideas?
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...Component or S-Video?Right is this the sort of thing I need? (Hope that worked) Listed on the Keene page as: SCART TO 3 BNC RGsB OR COMPONENT 2.0m - £29.99 Sometimes run sound from tv through DAV, use a seperate audio connection into Video 2 sockets on DAV.
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...Component or S-Video?Thanks. I'm in the UK, have checked a few websites but can't seem to find any.
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...Component or S-Video?Hi, I'm currently connecting my DAVS550 to a Sony 28DX40 tv using a Svideo to Scart lead. Would i benefit by using the component out sockets on the DAV and is it possible to get a component to Scart lead? Thanks
Television Troublesh...help needed with KD28DX40Hi, I have the sony KD28DX40 idtv and seem unable to receive the bbci broadcasts on channels 701/702/703. Which are those used for extra events such as match of the day, wimbledon etc. Does anyone else have the same problem? And does anyone know how to receive these? Thanks
DVDCalibrating DAVS550Hi, My DAVS550 keeps freezing while switching layers, requiring a complete power off to unfreeze. I'm trying to follow the calibration instructions as listed on this website, but am unable to bring up the service menu. Can anyone help, there doesn't appear to be a 'Title' button on the remote? Many thanks
