| Television Configura... | I Cannot Get in Service Mode!!!! | You don't have to go as fast as you can. Pressing the buttons within 1 sec of each other is enough. Make sure your remote is on the TV setting and not sat or vcr or other. What set do you have? gull [ This message was edited by: guller on 2003-02-07 13:03 ] |
| Television Configura... | Understanding Red Push | If your set has the AXIS code the correct setting would be AXIS = 1. |
| Getting Started/Buil... | What cables to use? | I use Acoustic Research component cables. They are a great $35 cable. |
| DVD | NS700p: Aspect Ratio Control | Sure, this player will do the 4:3 pan / scan but you have to buy the 4:3 dvd. It will say on the back of the box which dvd you have. It won't make a widescreen dvd turn into a 4:3 pan / scan. |
| Television Configura... | 3:2 Pulldown Confused | When you are watching a regular tv channel the 3-2 pulldown feature in cinemotion is disabled and it reverts to progressive drc mode. As it gets disabled you will see combing where it looks like you are looking at the picture through a hair comb. Then it stays in progressive mode. Cinemotion with 3-2 pulldown only works on movies made from film then converted to video. They have a special 3-2 cadence that the circuitry detects and then deinterlaces it accordingly. Yes, they are a joy to watch and own. |
| Television Configura... | Hi all, My first post, need some help with my new | I'm not sure if your service menu has very detailed geometry adjustments. If you want, go to the downloads section of this site and download the geometry adjustments for the xbr450. I think they call it the xbr450 service manual. Look for some of the same codes in your service menu. You will also need avia or ve to display a crosshatch or checkerboard pattern. Sounds like you have the funhouse mirror effect that has plagued some of the older sets though. No fix for that, only fix is to return it and try again. |
| Television Misc and ... | 32HV600 vs. 32HS500 | The drc circuit is the line doubler of the tv. Get the best / newest one that you can. It will be worth the extra 150. The HV600 has the latest V1 drc circuitry, I can't find any info on the hs500 but it probably has last years drc. The newest drc will give you more control over the doubling and improve the grain issues that people are seeing when you have a lower quality signal source. |
| Television Configura... | red push | Yep cuts and drives control grey scale, not the color decoder. Here is a good post from Guy Kuo, tha Avia guide to home theater. www.hometheaterforum.com/htforum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=57787 [ This message was edited by: guller on 2002-06-13 10:51 ] [ This message was edited by: guller on 2002-06-13 10:53 ] |
| Television Troublesh... | S-video and RCA video in video 1 - no auto-detect? | Just connect your rca cables into another video input. I think video 3 is on the back. |
| Television Misc and ... | DVI-HDtv interface | You should wait. Only a few more months now. |
| Television Misc and ... | KV-36XBR450 codes | Your welcome. I know what you mean I use 3 remotes also. One of these days I'll break down and buy one of those all in one remote commanders, just wish they were a little smaller. |
| Television Misc and ... | KV-36XBR450 codes | RCA DVD = 755 Mits VCR = 323, 324, 325, 326 The remote will not control stereo receivers. The only Yamaha codes I show are under the vcr section: 314, 330, 336, 337 Hope this helps |
| Television Configura... | XBR Gaming: does it need to hurt? | The settings are different inside the service mode also. If you adjusted all of the user adjustments identically they would still look completely different. To make them the same you would also have to change every paramiter inside the service mode to match. I think pro mode is the best because it has most of the artifical enhancement features disabled in the service menu. If you haven't done any of the service menu tweaks yet, they will also give you an even better picture. [ This message was edited by: guller on 2002-06-09 16:50 ] |
| Television Configura... | XBR Gaming: does it need to hurt? | When using pro mode adjust your sharpness down to about 1/3 of the total scale. Turning the sharpness down and disabeling vm will cut down some of the jaggies. Switching from a 27 to a 36 in. set will take a little adjusting to get used to. Every little jaggie that you saw on the 27 in. is now 30% bigger. |
| Television Configura... | thanks to all that have not responded !!!! | I'm not sure which ones you need, but if most of your viewing is with vm off the vagp 0 setting should work either way. I got my values right out of my service mode menu on my 36" set. Braincramp will have to answer the rest for you. |
| Television Configura... | thanks to all that have not responded !!!! | VAPI remains at 4 for all VM modes. VAPG is at 0 for all VM modes except for VM low then it is set for 2. These are the default values for the 36hs20 which should be identical to the 36xbr450. Good Luck |
| Television Configura... | thanks to all that have not responded !!!! | vapi 4, vapg 0 Try to be more polite in the future, considering this is a free voluntary help forum. If you read back on your previous posts you ask for the vapi and vagi codes. Then yesterday you changed vagi to vapg. Maybe you need to double check your questions, braincamp answered your full question on your very first post / there is no vagi code. Why are you messing with the comb filter controls on the video 5 input anyway? [ This message was edited by: guller on 2002-05-18 11:37 ] [ This message was edited by: guller on 2 .. |
| Television Installat... | S-Video or Regular Video Hookup for Digital Cable? | Actually those artifacts are caused by the digital cable compression. |
| Television Troublesh... | Which color values to change | I wouldn't change anything without some kind of color analyzer. The cuts and drives alter the grey scale and would affect all of the colors, the other 2 I'm not sure what they do, be carefull in there. Maybe try callibrating using the green filter instead of the blue and see how that looks. |
| Television Installat... | s-video or composite? | All hd sat receivers have component outs. I haven't seen a sd sat box that has had them yet. |
