DVDSony DVP-NS900V Component out problemAh, the switch was introduced on some late 900's (they had progressive) shortly before the 905. On my 930, I recall having problems getting component working the first time, I'm not sure what I did though, as Toli says I'm sure its something with the LINE setting. In the UK you currently get 4 titles with Sony players, making the £225 GBP price tag of the BDPS300 a real temptation right now. The 9xx series of DVD players still look great today IMO. I actually think my 930 in progressive over component looks as good if not better than my PS3 upscaling on HDMI.
DVDSony DVP-NS900V Component out problemHi Joe, its been a very long time (maybe more than 3 years) Been very busy with work and family and most my online focus had been towards cars! I've made a few changes to my setup since my last was active here, I gladly tell you more but where would be a better place to start a thread..? [addsig]
DVDSony DVP-NS900V Component out problemI am pretty sure you have to flick a switch on the rear of the unit to enable component.  Unfortunatly there is no way to make it progressive though. Cheers, Duncan [ This message was edited by: duncan on 2008-05-26 16:35 ]
MD/CD/SACDMy CDP XB920 QS says: "no stabilizer"It is just a big weight/magnet that you place on top of the CD.  Not sure where you would get one from, maybe a service center.  I can take a photo of mine if it helps.[addsig]
DVDBest sony dvd player available in UKPersonally, right now in the absence of the 975 in the UK I would look at Denon or Pioneer.  but my drivers are features like DVI, HDMI and ability to play WMA material (like downloaded HDTV stuff) Other than that I think the 955 is top dog Sony (non-record anyway) By the way, ignore the Sony site, its never correct in the UK!!![addsig]
DVD"set top box controller" Sorry to correct, but more specifically a set-top-box (STB) controller is a device to allow a recording device (VCR, DVD rec, HDD)  to change the channel on a STB.  Normally these are an InfaRed emitter on a cable or directly emitting from the front of the unit.  I have seen them on some Sony VCRs (mine being one of them)  Never actually taken time to train it or use it.[addsig]
Getting Started/Buil...KDE-P42XS1 plasma, DVP-NS930V/B dvd player, SA-VS7I meant to ask, where did you get a 2000ES from in the UK? do you have upconvert and the 7th channel of amplification? that the 2000QS doesn't have.[addsig]
Getting Started/Buil...KDE-P42XS1 plasma, DVP-NS930V/B dvd player, SA-VS7I would check that the video cables going to the plasma are as far from power and speaker cables as possible.  I would be surprised if it is anything to do with scanning frequencies...plasmas don't work like that..sort off :-S You should be sat about 3 times the distance as the heigh of the top of the screen from the floor.  Though I like 2.5 to 3 meters with my 42" Plasma. [addsig]
Getting Started/Buil...Running cables to Plasma mounted on wallYou are going to seroiusly degrade the signal over that kind of distance so you need high quality cable.  Am i correct in thinking that when you say RGB you mean component, as in 3 RCA plugs on the back of the TS2? If that is the case I would buy a high quality switching box for the scarts such as the quintro from Sevenoaks, or Quattro from Keen electronics.  Then I would get a RGB->Component converter to convert the Scart out from the switching box into component. Then do a run of component cable.  Sevenoaks will make you a cable up for about £10 per meter.&nbs ..
