Well, after staring at the slowly changing and eerily bluish cloud on my TV for several weeks and then noticing the transition to a now greenish hue on most of the screen I have come to realize that my TV has the same defective polarizing filters as all of the other Sony LCD projection TVs. I have had an STR-DA5ES since August 2002. I saw a thread concerning the blue light not working, or flashing and I can confirm that I have been having the same problem since I purchased the unit. I am using the optical inputs from the DVD and even when set to optical only the blue light behaves erratically.
