Amp/Receiver/Speaker...sound from two sources through one speaker system Thanks guys. I've disconnected the two right now and will go get a small and simple mixer to get the problem sorted out. I've already discarded the idea of connecting the MP3+ uot to PC audio in as it would require me to turn on the PC everytime I wanted sound out of the Mac. I wan't both so a mixer is what I'll get. Unfortunately those aren't as easily available in Sweden as in the U.S. I'll find one eventually though. /Tiny Mix[addsig]
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...sound from two sources through one speaker system This is sort of bordering on not fitting this subforum, but since you guys are pretty smart electronicswise and the subforum addresses connections and cables, I'm giving it a shot: I have a Apple G4 Cube and a PC sharing keyboard, mouse and monitor through a KVM-switch. It works excellent, but since I don't fancy having double sets of speakers I decided to try and hook the Cube up to my (powered) JBL Creature II speakers. I therefore bought a Creative Soundblaster MP3+ external soundcard for the Cube as it has no internal soundcard. ..
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...RM-LJ312 and STR-VA333ESLtCarter, The Two-way functions of the RM-LJ312 won't work with the STR-DA3000ES as that particular receiver has no IR-transmitter and thus isn't two-way capable. You'd have to get a DA5000ES to get 2-way. Sorry. /Tiny Bearer of bad news[addsig]
MD/CD/SACDSony vs. ipod? Help. Here 's a review of the NM-HD1 which corraborates RB's opinion. Unfortunately the HD1 isn't mature enough to compete with the iPod just yet. Give them one or two generations and I'm sure they will rock (this is the first NW-HD unit – hence the "1" in the model #). Also, note that the superior battery time (of 30 hours) largely comes from the fact that ATRAC3 (which the Sony uses) is less power-consuming to decode and 30 hours can only be reached when listening to music stored at the unlistenably low bitrate of 48 kbps. Using higher bitrates is perfectly fine, but then the playin ..
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...RM-LP211 remoteThe LP211 is what Sony calls a "programmable" remote which isn't as good as a truly learning one, but should work out for you anyway. The remote is pre-stored with (lots of) remote codes from various manufacturers and I would be ver surprised if it didn't have the ability to control a modern Panasonic TV. The programming is done so that you enter a few-digit code which corresponds to the proper manufacturer (some manufacturers have several codes assigned to them.) I suggest you consult your user manual for the specific procedures of programming it. Good luck! /Tiny Learner[ad ..
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...Need to find ES STR DA 7 remote or replacementI'd go have a look at www.remotecentral.com /Tiny Link[addsig]
DVDSomeone Please HELP!!!Doesn't the PAL vs NTSC situation confuse this if you want to play it back on something but a computer?[addsig]
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...Will Sony Start Making Black Componets AgainHere's a problem. No Mega-changer has ever been sold in Europe in any color other than black. So if I want a consistent system silver is out the window. Well, let's say I want a DVD recorder – none of those come in black. Guess I'm screwed...[addsig]
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...Will Sony Start Making Black Componets AgainMinor note from Europe: We don't actually get the ES models in silver here, "just" black and champagne/gold. The Japanese are the ones with the most available colors. We got the QS models in silver (albeit those are rebadged as ES in N.E.).[addsig]
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...WHICH REMOTE withSTR-DA50ES???I seem to remember something about the battery-life being improved on the later RM-TP models but I can't swear on it. As a comparison – I haven't changed the batteries in my RM-LJ304 (which replaced a RM-LJ302 like Maxx') for at least six months or so. As far as I know the 503 & 504 will handle your 501 needs just fine. Drop me an e-mail at calle at foretagtillforetag dot com and I'll e-mail you the manuals for the 504 503 (and 502 if you want it). Then you can check to see if there are any features missing. /Tiny mAh[addsig]
Getting Started/Buil...Someone Please HELP!!!I'm sorry about having to say this, but there is more to the problem than just the region coding. Your (and my) TV/DVD use the PAL system while North America uses NTSC. Since so many DVDs are exported from there to here many of our PAL DVD players have the built in ability to play NTSC discs. Native NTSC players, however, very rarely have this feature. His best bet is to go look for a cheap DVD player that specifically states it can play back PAL DVDs. /Tiny Parade-rainer[addsig]
Camera Misc.Sony DSC p150Hi! I have the predecessor of the P150 called the P120 (it's basicly a black P100). My camera (which incidently was bought from Germany as well – though brand new) has the option to set the menu language to any of the following: Português, Italiano, Français, Español, Deutsch or English. I even believe it was set to English out of the box. You havent added where you live in your profile (like mine says "Stockholm, Sweden" just below my handle), but when you write "continental" it makes me think you live in the U.K. Since the U.K., Germany and Sweden all have the European stan ..
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...STR-DE945 Receiver RM-LJ304 RemoteThat's too bad. Hope everything works out for you. /Tiny Comfort[addsig]
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...STR-DE945 Receiver RM-LJ304 RemoteOn my RM-LJ304 there is a COMMAND MODE option between CONTRAST and ALL CLEAR. Beats me why you haven't got it. /Tiny Remembered[addsig]
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...STR-DE945 Receiver RM-LJ304 Remote Tiny Link [addsig]
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...STR-DE945 Receiver RM-LJ304 RemoteMaxx, Thanks for the kind words. Patrick, I'll try and remember to check if I got that option on my LJ304 when I get home from work. Rich, I agree. It certainly seems like the V555ES shipped with the 304. In that case I can't see why every single function on it shouldn't work. If you should stumble on the RM-LJ305, one of those should work as well. It shipped with the replacment model STR-V A 555ES and looks almost identical, but have the Bass Boost button replaced by one labeled "6.1 ch decoding". I'm unsure exactly what this one does and the 305 is ..

    Amp/Receiver/Speaker...2 way remotes. What they do? and which for me??Hee's a list of the 50-400 disc models. I have marked which I know have a 2-way remote. Anybody see an error or want to add one – please post and I'll try and update the list. CDP-CX53 - CDP-CX55 - CDP-CX57 - CDP-CX150 - CDP-CX151 - CDP-CX153 - CDP-CX200 - CDP-CX205 - CDP-CX210 - CDP-CX220 - 1-way CDP-CX225 - CDP-CX230 - 1-way CDP-CX235 - 1-way CDP-CX240 - CDP-CX250 - CDP-CX255 - CDP-CX260 - 2-way CDP-CX270 - CDP-CX300 - 1-way CDP-CX335 - CDP-CX350 - 2-way CDP-CX355 - 1-way CDP-CX400 ..
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...2 way remotes. What they do? and which for me??The thing is that the receiver needs to have a IR transmitter in addition to the regular IR receiver. Naturally, most don't. The U.S. STR-DA4ES was 2-way ready although it didn't come with a 2-way remote and it's possible that the non-U.S. version (called STR-VA333ES) could as well. Perhaps you could get a second-hand Mega-changer which has a 2-way remote of it's own. /Tiny Transmitter[addsig]
