Television Misc and ...28" widescreens Don't waste your money on samsung, the phillips and jvc offer much better quality.  Between the jvc and phillips go with the one that looks best to you.
DVDDVP-CX777 Multiregion NewsWhat's Macrovision, I keep reading about it but can't find out what it is.  Can someone please explain it in clear terms.
DVDDVD music. What's good?I agree with Maxxwire, Steely Dan Two Against Nature DVD is awesome.  The music is of course incredible and the DTS track will blow you away. Also check out Roger Waters In The Flesh Live and Eagles Hell Freezes Over.  I've also heard that Concert For George has really good sound as well.
Television Misc and ...LG TV'sAre you sure, I've always heard it was a chinese company.  Anyways, chinese/korean not much of a difference in quality.
Television Misc and ...LG TV'sLG, along with all the other junk out of China, is garbage.  Don't waste your hard earned money.  Any Japanese brand will be better quality, even if you have to pay a little more.
Home Theater GalleryMy Little home-theaterYeah, but most people put price ahead of quality when buying electronics these days.
Television Misc and ...Sony KDF-60XS955 vs. Sony KDF-60XBR950 vs Mitsi 62The advanced menu is only accessible in PRO mode.  It should be grayed out in the other modes.  I still haven't seen the XS on display at any of the local stores I've been to.  I can't wait to see one in person.  I'm still debating whether I should buy one now since I'll be kicking myself if they bring out a 60" SXRD next year.
DVDLooking for the best band for the buck Sony DVD plI have a 575 also, highly recommended.  I thought the lack of optical out would be bad but I've been using the coax out and it's just as good.
DVDNew HDMI upscaling Sony DVP-NS975V now available aHow about the 575?  I have had mine for about 4 or 5 months without problems.
DVDSuperbitIf BlueRay is not the standard then there will be two formats along with HD-DVD.  Sony owns Columbia and I guess MGM, so there is no way in hell they are gonna go with HD-DVD as the standard.
DVDSuperbit On 2004-09-28 12:39, rb wrote: The only thing I don't like about Superbit DVD's is that in order to increase the video bitrate, the bitrate on the DTS audio track is half of what it's capable of. DTS with the audio bitrate of DD. It's still better than DD. I hate DD, I wish DTS was the standard.  Imagine how good DTS is gonna be on BlueRay since they don't have to compress it at all.
Television Configura...TV Out Resolution Damage Sony Set?I think they are talking about analog TVs not being able to go above 800x600.  For example, when I connect my nVidia Ti4200 to my KV-27FS100, the drivers automatically limit the resolution to 800x600 max.
DVDSuperbitSuperbit titles usually don't contain any extras just the movie and a DTS track.  Superbit Deluxe edition on the other hand are 2-disc so they give you extras.  I have Snatch Superbit Deluxe which is awesome.  So if you must have Superbit and extras then look for Superbit Deluxe titles.
DVDStar Wars Trilogy GlitchI suggest you stop buying DVDs from FYE, that is so ridiculous that they wouldn't exchange the DVD for another.  I buy most of my DVDs from Fry's Electronics (there's one in San Diego), they have the best selection and best prices here in L.A.  I have exchanged a couple of discs because they skipped and they never ask questions.  BTW they had the best price in town for SW @ $36.99.
Television Misc and ...any rumors on upgrade to 70xbr950I have read about the KDS70XBR100 and according to a few people who have spoken with the Sony reps at CEDIA it's supposed to be available in January for under $10,000, but who knows if they'll make the date and how many will be available.  I don't think they'll make a non-SXRD XBR in 70" anymore after the XBR100 is released.
Television Configura...Sony FS-100L -- class action suit possibility?I have done the 16:9 squeeze tweak, but haven't tried the red push.  The red push is not a problem for me since I don't really notice it so I haven't gone in the service menu to try and find the parameters to change.  If someone can post the parameters I'll try them otherwise it's good the way it is.  Also, my cousin has a non-L model and I don't see any difference in PQ between the 2.  The only thing different is his menu is like the one on my KP57HW40 while mine is different.  As far as the service menu being different, that's up the manufacturer since the co ..
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...Sony recommends coax vs. optical inputThen why use optical at all when coax has even better bandwidth than a glass optical cable?  Does coax sound better then?
Television Configura...Sony FS-100L -- class action suit possibility?First of all I have a 27FS100L so I can comment on this.  It's not a bait and switch on Sony's part because on the box it clearly states that it is an L model and it's up to you to decide whether you want it or you want to fish around for a non-L.  The stores are partly to blame because the tags don't mention the L and when I bought mine at CC the floor model was a non-L as well.  I'm very satisfied with the TV though, no complaints.  BUT I'm sure some sack of shit lawyer will be more than happy to jump on the bandwagon and get some kind of lawsuit going.    ..
Playstation 2 player...So far the ps2 kinda sucksThe reason the PS1 killed the dreamcast was because well the dreamcast was trash.  Stupid games with clanky controls.  The biggest mistake I ever made was buying one.  The PS1 was great for it's time.
Television Configura...FS100 service menu--how to turn off red push??!If someone with an L model that has done red push adjustment can post which parameters they change that would be great.  Thanks.
