Steve~ With those speakers, I am not sure if it matters much what settings he uses. I would try crossovers anywhere from 80 to 120 Hz. I would also probably use the subwoofer amplifier's LP filter to even up the FR a bit, but that is speculative. |

The Mains I would set at 100Hz, and the Surrounds at 110.... The problem is you will need to set your LFE High Cut to around 110 or 120 to fill the gaps.... The best thing is....You have a DAxES receiver with the capability to do so... The not so good part is....Your sub is really gonna take over and be the main bass speaker as I described earlier...It w .. |
| Amp/Receiver/Speaker... | LFE signal has disappeared from test DVDs! | Does your receiver have the speaker display like the older units do? When you have LFE, then the LFE level indicator will move. |

Plus you have to return all of the accessories that are quite costly on that unit. Just wondering if the Op purchased an extended replacement warranty from Tweeter. Is this a Sony issue or a .. |
| Amp/Receiver/Speaker... | STR-DG1000 Auto-Cal Frequency | Just wondering how close the auto cal subwoofer distance was set to the as measured distance. It should be set further away than the as measured distance (depending on main speakers however). |

| Amp/Receiver/Speaker... | Replacement Toslink Optical Input Jacks | I researched the receiver Sharp part number GP1FA512RZB. It is discontinued. The recommended replacement of the above is GP1FA513RZOF. It is discontinued. The recommended replacement of the above is GP1FAV31RKOF. It is available in the current digikey catalog. http://dkc3.digikey.com/PDF/T073/P0296.pdf Toli - The prices on those sites at kind of steep. About $15.00 for an item that costs about $1.50 !!! | Amp/Receiver/Speaker... | Replacement Toslink Optical Input Jacks | Thank you Aaron. While we are at it, what would be the Optical Toslink Output Jack part number? When I place an order, I may as well stock up on the different jacks. |
| Amp/Receiver/Speaker... | Replacement Toslink Optical Input Jacks | I have a Sony STR-DA4ES. Are the Optical Toslink Input Jacks available as a service item? If so, what is the part number. Thanks |
| Amp/Receiver/Speaker... | Dipole Speaker Phase | ADP's are not dipole speakers. They are dipolar at the top end, and bipolar at the low end. If you reverse polarity, then you are asking for trouble in the lower frequencies. I would listen to your dealer, and not listen to half baked setup recommendations made by people who may be clueless about those specific surround speakers. Why not ask the manufacturer for the correct setup details if you don't trust your dealer? http://www.paradigm.com/en/reference/contact_us/ |
| Amp/Receiver/Speaker... | Sony Cinema DSP modes | I was playing around with my distance settings on the STR-DA4ES last night and noticed something for the first time. When in the Cinema DSP modes, the speaker distance settings do not appear to be doing anything at all. The distance settings remain on the menu, they can all be changed, but the distance settings do not appear to function. In other words, you can not hear a difference between distance settings like you can hear in the auto-select mode. I wonder if that is due to all the DSP that is used to create that Cinema sound. Perhaps the Cinema modes have fi .. |
