Amp/Receiver/Speaker...New ES equipment from Sony07.17.2007 — Sony is taking steps to elevate its Elevated Standard (ES) group of authorized dealers with new protected product lines. The company took the first step in that reinvigoration strategy when it held its Sony ES Dealer Conference in Hilton Head, S.C. in late June, attended exclusively by CE Pro. The event marked the introduction of Hiroyuki Ito as the new head of the ES group under his official title of general manager, Audio Business Group. Ito told the gathered group of about 100 specialty retailers that the ES product lines “must grow and change,” adding that “ES ..

Amp/Receiver/Speaker...HDMI 1.3Thanks Maxx Got involved in other things - hope to be back to this forum more in the future. Reggie
Blu-Ray/HD DVDAny rumors as to when Sory will have ES Blu-Ray plthat will play SACDs too. I know my PS3 does all this but I want to have something that will get me back to having only one remote - since the PS3 uses Bluetooth for it's remote - not IR.
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...HDMI 1.3Any rumors as to when Sony will have new ES receivers with 1.3 capability?

I read this article which explains that all displays are progressive scan and they scale the incoming signal to their native resolution. It also reveals which TV's scalers work accurately and which are cheating. ~Maxx~ Great article

Do you know if this is this true? ~Maxx~ The data on the TV says: 0.73" TFT LCD panel x3 (1280 x 720 Pixels), 1 lens system (F2.4) 720p stands for resolution of 1280x720 pixels so I would say the best solution would be to output the DV ..
DVDSony Blue Ray Presentation On 2006-05-12 00:35, Maxxwire wrote: Rggie3- How would you describe the visual differences between 1080i and 1080p? ~Maxx~ First I want to say to everyone - the major difference in Blue-Ray vs HD-DVD is the data transfer rate. Yeah the added storage capacity will be great - and yeah the 1080p off the bat is great too.  But the xfer rate will allow the full 1080p pictures with mucho detail to be displayed without blurring on fast motion. So I have not seen any direct comparison of 1080i vs 1080p. The So ..
DVDSony Blue Ray PresentationIt was at a Denver/Boulder high end store - Listen-Up: & I would think that Sony will be doing this presentation in other cities to counter the HD-DVD Bus tour that is hitting the nation. From what I could tell there had been a couple of weeks preparation for the slide show that was typical of what I would do for my projects at work ..

Television Configura...Is posssible to accept HD signals on the 53HS10 co On 2005-09-04 21:10, rastan wrote: When I connect  an HDTV signal to 5 it does not work.  It will only take a standard TV feed.  For example it works with 480i, but not 480p.  There is no setting to make this HD.  I've read that there is a raster setting than can be changed in the service menu to get this to work.  I just don't know how. Have you tried to input any HD signal on this input besides the XBOX?
Satellite Receiver/T...sat hd 200 favorites resetThis has been a problem with the HD200 from the beginning. I remember this being posted on AVS forum when I first got my HD200 and experiencing the same. I think it got better with the HD300, but I am not sure - I really did not follow the posts that much as I was more interested in a Directv HD TiVo if I planned to upgrade.
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...Harman Kardon center channel speakerI would like to say that Tilo is right about trying to match your front speakers - one wants the timbre to be the same or it will be very distracting to movies
Television Installat...Monster Cables and Non HDTV Reception************************************ Time Warner (Houston) is getting ready to install a HDTV box next week for use with my KV-34XBR910. The guy at Warner told me not to use Monster cables, says after awhile the gold plating interacts with the nickel connectors and messes up the picture? Sounds fishy to me! Jack ******************************************* Gold does not react with Nickel. Many leadframes use a nickel barrier to keep copper from migrating and to provide a good base to attach silver or gold plating. Reggie [ This message was ..
Amp/Receiver/Speaker...120 volts vs. 220 & 230 voltsI would also like to add that the frequency is different for the UK (50hz) vs US (60hz) and that can effect the transformer efficiency. Also - in Europe there may be differences in how power is measured by the governing regulatory groups vs the US - much like how hp is measured differently in the two continents. Television Misc and ...Need help deciding which Sony HDTV...So much depends on you and your tastes The tube TVs will give you the darkest blacks and are the best for films.
