I'm pretty sure since I have their component video cables and are the same design with the gold. [addsig] [ This message was edited by: ROM3000 on 2005-08-14 17:04 ] | | Amp/Receiver/Speaker... | Stereo Set-Up | Thanks for clearing that up Revenge. When you say that the speaker will be high passed, doesn't that mean that I will not be able to utilize the low 40 Hz range that the speaker can support. Will I be able to get full range of the speakers and the subwoofer just takes what it needs, but still sends everything back out? Thanks.[addsig] | | Amp/Receiver/Speaker... | Stereo Set-Up | Yep, that is what I've seen from most pictures, do I need to connect both? Which way will give me more bass? Both or just one? Thanks for the reply.[addsig] | | Amp/Receiver/Speaker... | Stereo Set-Up | Thanks for the quick reply Maxxwire. One more quick question. Should I connect both the right and left speakers, or I only need one? Thanks.[addsig] | | Computers Configurat... | does my burner support DL burning? | rb45gx, I would say you should be able to since most of the newer Sony computer have the DL DVD burner standard. Unfortunately I coudn't find your model on the sonystyle web site anymore. If you have a copy of Nero, go to Start > All Programs > Nero > Nero Toolkit > Nero InfoTool. This will tell what type of media your burner will support. Good luck.[addsig] | | Amp/Receiver/Speaker... | Stereo Set-Up | Hey everyone. It seams I will be getting the STR-DE197 with a pair of either the SS-MF750H or the SS-MF650H. Thanks for all the help. When I get everything, I'll try to post some pictures. Thanks for all the help. I have one question though. the STR-DE197 does not have a sub woofer pre-out, but with examination of some sub woofers, I found out that most have the ability to take in speaker wire from a receiver and then take it back out to the speakers. Would this work and will it sound any good? If it will degrade the quality of the sound instead of going directly to the speakers, t .. | | Amp/Receiver/Speaker... | Stereo Set-Up | Yeah thanks for the reply guys. Sorry it took so long to answer back. mykyll2727, I am goignt to go the stereo receiver route. If I do decide to get surround sound later, I will buy something more expensive and better, but right now I just want a quality stereo system. So do you have any other suggestions. As for the speakers on eBay, I did find them. Here are the links: SS-MF650H SS-MF750H Unfortunately, I have to pay $50 for shipping, and sales tax for NY! It will probably not be worth it. I also forgot about shipping for Amazon, .. | | Computers Configurat... | Gigapocket: How Can I Use Over 125 Channels? | Well if you have a set top box for the Comcast cable you will need to go to Start > All Programs > Giga Pocket > All Software > TV Setup. In the TV Setup window, change from Standard CATV to STB and select the input channel you will use, most likely channel 3. Now connect your RF cable to the back of your computer from the Set Top Box. You will probably need to change the channels with the set top box though. I never used Giga Pocket, but I'm pretty sure that will work. Also if you have an S-Video out on your STB, then I would recommend that over the RF cable, because you will get .. | | Amp/Receiver/Speaker... | Stereo Set-Up | Hey guys, just a price update and great deal. I found the Sony STR-DE598 Receiver for $125.99 at Amazon.com . This makes it actually cheaper than the STR-DE197 and I get 6.1 channel audio. The only thing pushing me away from it, is that I will only get 90wpc with the 598. The 197 gives me 100wpc. BTW: are these the inflated watts or the real wattage I'll get, because I found the Onkyo TX-8211 for $148.81, but it only gives me 50 wpc! The MF650H won't even have to break a sweat, since they can handle 180 watts each.[addsig] | | Amp/Receiver/Speaker... | Stereo Set-Up | Hey thanks for the replies guys. Well, I think I am set on the floorstanding speakers, and it is great because I can also use them as the main speakers if I ever get a 5.1 receiver and decide to upgrade later. Another option I was thinking about though is a pair of Athena AS-B2.2 bookshelf speakers for $149.99 at Amazon.com. I can always place them on stands if I need too. Well, between these two speakers which do you think will give me a better sound quality? I know I will sacrifice bass with the Athenas, but I have heard great things about them. I would rathe .. | | Computers Misc. | GigaPocket Software or Driver | You should be able to get the latest driver for you giga pocket here . Just type in your model number, and go to Driver/Software. Then look for the Giga Pocket Driver. As for the software, it should be in one of the Application Recovery CD's if it came with your computer. Good luck.[addsig] | | Amp/Receiver/Speaker... | Stereo Set-Up | Well I listen to all kinds really depending on what I feel like listening to. Dance, Techno, Hip-Hop, Rap, Classic Rock, and Modern Rock. I plan on habing it connected to my iPod which has my entire collection. Sorry if I can't be very specific, since I like everything, but I will mainly listen to classic rock like Def Leppard and Guns-N-Roses, Dance like Scarf!, DHT, 4 Strings and Hip-Hop like Chigny, 50 Cent, etc. As for volume I usually only listen to music at a moderate level of sound and occasionaly at higher levels. Thanks for the reply maxxwire. If you need to ask .. | | Amp/Receiver/Speaker... | Stereo Set-Up | Hey everyone. I'd like your help. I want to build a stereo system made of components to listen basically to music, stereo TV, and for games. I know that I would be better off with a 5.1 system for DVD-Audio and SACD, but I already have that in the home theater in the family room. This system will most likely go into my room, but might end up in a side room near the living room for everyone to use. Originally I was thinking of getting a shelf-system, but I could probably get better quality from seperate components right? That is really low, but it is from Dynadirect. Who will ship it to me, Amazon or Dynadirect? Are they a trustable online store? Thanks. Oh, btw: I'm sorry for asking for help in the Set-Up thread. All of you guys have awesome home theaters so thanks for sharing. Also which one do you recommend for my set up, the M-4310? Thanks. Thanks again.[addsig] | | Getting Started/Buil... | Your Set Up? | Thanks for the recommendation Maxwire. The cheapest price I found it for is $157.95 at Digitally Unique . How would the 4310 compare to the Monster Power HTS 2500 MKII? I found that for $172.00 at CompSource . Thanks. Oh and lastly, is there any way to calculate the amount of joules I would need or protection?[addsig] | | Agoraquest News and ... | Email Notification | I too would love this feature. It can be a pain sometimes to find the thread you posted at. I tried to enable it from the acount center, but could not find the feature. I'm very happy to be a part of this forum and would like to share my components. Home Theater TV - Sony KLV-23M1 HTIB - Panasonic SC-HT930 (Sorry but I went with the Panasonic, none of the Sony DVD HTIB had as many features or quality for this price. Is that the 34" XBR? How are they compared to a non-XBR Sony TV? I don't really understand the difference? Also the in-wall wiring looks great and neat.
