| Television Troublesh... | XBR55HX929 Blinking led 5 times got info from diag | 5 flashes for that model indicates that the TCON board is faulty. 5X Blink - TCON Error The 5X blink protection mode indicates a communications error between the TCON Board and the X-Reality microprocessor on the Main Board. If the TCON is available for replacement, replace the TCON. If the TCON is not available, the LCD panel must be replaced since the TCON circuit is part of the LCD panel assembly. In rare cases a loose or defective LVDS cable could also be the cause. There is no TCON board listed as a spare part There is no LCD panel listed as a spare part. I wo .. |

If that is the case you may be able to pursade Sony to repair or offer you an alternate replacement. In some case they may offer a cash discount off a current model. There is no harm lookimg and seeing what is applicable there in California. |

| Amp/Receiver/Speaker... | Sony str NX3 | STR-NX3 are theTuner and Amplifier Section in HMC-NX3AV. The display is actually an LCD type and is very rare that this needs to be replaced. Can you advise whether you get the following; Does the dispaly light up? Do you get any characters on the display? If there is display is not lit up then possibly this has failed , this used LED's and maynbe a driver transistor has failed if You have no character then its either the main processor or a display board failure, in which case getting spares will be very hard. Ebay may be the only source by buying another unit and strippi .. |
| Television Troublesh... | Bravia Hotel mode | the only option i can think of thats left is to go into service mode; display 5 vol+ then power and use the 2 buttonn to scroll through till you find factory reset (not sure of name) use 3 or 6 to change to "1" then press 8 mute 0 to change value. now turn off at wall and wait 5 seconds before turning on again. if that does not work i am lost to advise anythiung else |

| Television Misc and ... | What Was the Best 32" Sony CRT? | Still have my KV-W32SN11 wide screen, and in my opinion gives a much better picture than my KDL-60EX700. It was made theif proof with it 90Kg weight. For an old analogue tuner which had a great set of features that do noy appear on modern sets. The tube was classed as a HD and settings were included to use it although it never had tand HD inputs. |

The display board is the same as that used on the ST-S707ES and had the IR receiver fitted plus a few other components.
