Had the screen snow, and flashing blue light, and did an init reset on the diags screen. I confirm also no change in reported version from 1.5.10 This is indeed unexpectedly strange. What version are we talking about? After installing the new firmware chip (IC106/IC107) preloaded with modified 777 firmware my 985 reports the following ver ..

Hey interestingly my 777 occasionally shuts down halfway through a move, but its only done it since I got it Region Modded and PAL capable..... I'm not sure about doing the firmware upgrade after the regional modification, I think it will rub out the firmware which allows the region free capabilities ! Anybody know for sure? I thought that the extra "cover-up" epoxy applied by JVB mods might have been just a smoke-screen. A few questions, if I may: What does just the updated eeprom cost? What's the contact info for Frederic Steinfels? Since my eeproms are all flashable, would he consider selling just the updated flash firmware code as a file? *THANKS* for the info! -Sur ..
DVDDVP-CX777ES I'm diong the PAL+MultiRegion, need toWell I finally got my player modified and can assure you the only thing necessary to swap is the ROM with a flash with the updated firmware (IC106/IC107). I bough the chip from Frederic Steinfels and soldered it myself. I ordered the 777 modification chip while I have the 985. At the end I had to do the menu reset but now I have a black multiregion PAL/NTSC “777” !!! If someone wants pictures from the modification I can email them. Cheers, Fernando
Camera InstallationDSC-F828 vs. Imagemixer 1.5 for DVD HandycamNo, I'm still waiting to find it! Fernando
Camera InstallationDSC-F828 vs. Imagemixer 1.5 for DVD Handycam  I have recently bought a Sony DSC-F828 Digital camera and it came with the Imagemixer 1.5 software that is only able to record VCDs. Meanwhile I discovered that another version exists: “Imagemixer 1.5 for DVD Handycam” – this one able to record DVDs. Since my camera is perfectly able to record movies with a quality adequate to DVD (640x480 30fps) I don’t understand why Sony does deliver with it a piece of software that only records VCDs!!!  Is there anyone with this “Imagemixer 1.5 for DVD Handycam” software that would be so kind to provide me with ..

DVDSony DVP CX985V Is this a replacement for the CX77   The 985 was released almost one year before the 777. Another key difference with the two is the lack of CONTROL-A1 port on the 985, which makes it impossible to interoperate with other changers. Fernando
DVDSony DVP-CX985V, need inside pictures/info Igor_Speed – Could you please send me the images you’ve scanned? My email is Simoes@mail.com If you have some way to send your player to Switzerland I’m sure Fredrich Steifels will be able to MOD it (that’s what I’m planning to do if I’m able to bring a player from the USA…) Fernando
DVDMultiregion Sony DVP-CX777ES  OK guys! I think everything is clear now and we can close this thread!  Fernando
DVDMultiregion Sony DVP-CX777ES It was not me who was complaining! And if it matters I started a second thread 985 related only because the first one was 777 related and there where no answers.
DVDSony DVP-CX985V, need inside pictures/info DaveFi – Where you using the progressive output of your 985? As Fredrich Steifels told me probably there are 2 memory chips and even if the manual says no – that’s why no logo appears - the player is able to play PAL!  probably Sony has to pay some royalties to declare the player is PAL capable… Fernando
DVDSony DVP-CX985V, need inside pictures/info JoeST - The only problem with your pictures is that they do not show the complete boards and it's not possible to answer my questions: Are there 1 or 2 memory chips and is it there a Fujitsu FR microcontroller? And what about PAL play capabilities? do you have any region 0 PAL disc? Cheers Fernando
DVDSony DVP-CX985V, need inside pictures/infoJoeST - Can't you give me/us some clues on the inside pictures of the 985V?
DVDSony DVP-CX985V, need inside pictures/info I want to buy a Sony DVP-CX985V or DVP-CX777ES and send it to DVDupgrades.ch so Fredrich Steifels is able to develop a MOD for it. But I need to be convinced that it will be possible for Frederic to develop the MOD. You guys that already have a DVP-CX985V or a DVP-CX777ES (because they are equal in what it matters to me) could you please answer these questions, or even better post inside pictures: - Does the main board have 1 or 2 video memory chips? And if it has only one has it place for the second? (Check description here: http://www.dvdupgrades.ch/85003/Modification/Semic ..
DVDMultiregion Sony DVP-CX777ES This is the first time I post in this forum so I would like to say hello to everyone! I’m planning buying a Sony DVP-CX777ES and sending it to DVDupgrades.ch so Fredrich Steifels is able to develop a MOD for this player. However there are a few things I need to confirm before I’ll do it! For the ones that already have a DVP-CX777ES or a DVP-CX985V (because they are equal in what it matters to me) I have three questions: - Are you able to play PAL movies? - Does the main board have 1 or 2 video memory chips?
