While waiting for the lamp I also cleaned the optical block. After putting it all back together & installing the new lamp I was surprised to see the 6 flashes of the red LED power / standby light. As best as I can tell from the forum feeds I need a thermal fuse, but I haven't seen a posting for my specific model.
