After only 2 years, my friggin XBR400 now has no picture, only sound. This after only a year ago having the picture tube replaced. What a POS!!! I'm so pissed at Sony - what a piece of crap TV they put out there...and then don't have the balls to admit it had a defect and help us poor suckers that forked out $2,400.
I too have the same problem with my KV36xbr400 and posted here a few days ago. The problem started about a year after I purchased the TV. The Sony tech put in a new picture tube (under warranty). No problems for about 9 months and now the same thing is happening again. Screen gets increasingly red and then the TV shuts off. I have called for a Sony tech to come out and look at it again. From what I have read here on posts with similar problems, there doesn't seem to be a fix for this. No one has provided any answers or solutions so far.
I have a KV36XBR400 that I purchased less than 3 years ago. The problem is that my screen gets increasingly red until the TV shuts off. When I turn the TV back on, the black areas on the screen are tinted red. I had the same problem about a year after I purchased the TV and a Sony Tech put a new picture tube in. Now the same thing is happening again. I've read posts with similar problems but I haven't seen any solutions. Has anyone figured out how to fix this problem? When you spend this much money on a TV, you can't just throw it out and get another. Any help would be appreciated.
