| Television Configuration | PC HDMI to KV-40XBR700 DVI ??? | jehill | 4 | 2012-11-26 15:55 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Welcome to Agoraquest! I am puzzled. I took a look at the KV-40XBR700 Operating Instructions and they don't show a DVI input. However, the KV-40XBR800 Operating Instructions do. I do see the following at the end of the Features section:Digital Visual Interface (DVI): Can accommodate a copy-protected digital connection to other devices (such as digital set-top boxes) that have compatible interfaces. The DVI-HDTV input terminal is compliant with the EIA-861 standard and is not intended for use with personal computers. |

| First 650 characters of this post | Update-I now have two Sony's in hand: 36hs500 to use as a test tv (it was a curb alert item) and the 40XBR700. My first desoldering attempt went so well on the 36" D board (btw - when I opened it up, someone had already taken the IC8002 out and replaced it), I removed the IC6501, that I dove straight into the IC8002 on the XBR700. So some blank reason, it was not as easy to remove. My neighbor suggested that they may have used lead-free solder. After a few hours of working over the course of two days, I was able to clear, with braid, about 13 of the 18 pins. Fortunately, he works for an el |

| Television Configuration | 40XBR700 green blotch issue | giovanni1 | 11 | 2009-03-18 08:28 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Hello everyone... My recent purchase of a used Sony 40XBR700 has drawn me to this forum. I find it very interesting to read all bout the TV that I have had my eyes on for many years, but never had the opportunity to have. Now, allthough 7 years old, it is in my spare room for my 2 children and their video games and movies! I have read many threads on this "green blotch" issue at the bottom left corner of the screen. Some say their is a Sony bulletin out, but I have not been able to find it. I have read a post by a member here, "jehill", about how to calibrate the yoke inside, |

This time when the TV was turned back on, the picture was very red. I tried the DVD/other inputs to the TV and the image is the same. Also, when the TV turned off, the ligh |

| First 650 characters of this post | I have the monster KV-40XBR700 and it is running for a while and then cutting off, just turning off completely and giving me five blinks over and over.I ordered the two ICs from Bluestar today and paid to download the service manual as some suggested here.I had the back off the thing and blew off a MOUNTAIN of dust, hoping that might fix things... wrong. When I did that I located the D board and found the two ICs in question. So, now I'm just waiting for the chips to arrive and headed out today to get the chip sockets others have mentioned is a good idea to g |

| First 650 characters of this post | Yeah, Sears is pretty good for parts for most appliances and some major electronics. They actually have the A and D boards for my sister\'s KV40XBR700 which I am currently trying to troubleshoot in another thread. |
